103.3 Aura as a Mechanism of Contact

Aura as a Mechanism of Contact

How is our aura a mechanism of contact? What are the 8 kinds of substance that form the aura?

Our aura is a mechanism of contact because it contains emanations of different bodies functioning as vehicles for communication with corresponding planes.

There are 8 types of substance that form the aura:

1. The physical aura contains physical substance, registering chemical radiations from rocks, minerals, metals, precious stones, wood, etc… and function as a mechanism of contact with our physical plane through skin and hair.

2. The etheric aura contains the 4 ethers, registering etheric radiations through chakras and facilitating contact with the etheric sphere of our planet.

3. The emotional aura contains astral substance, registering astral radiations or the emotions of people, and even entities living in the astral plane. It facilitates contact with the astral plane.

4. The mental aura contains mental substance, registering mental radiations, and facilitating contact with the mental plane.

5. The Intuitional aura contains buddhic substance (the 4th Cosmic Ether), registering archetypal ideas/fragments of the Plan. It facilitates contact with the Intuitional plane.

6. The Atmic aura contains atmic substance (the 3rd Cosmic Ether), facilitating our contact with Cosmic direction.

7. The Monadic aura contains monadic substance (the 2nd Cosmic Ether), registering Cosmic inspirations (visions/prototypes on higher planes carrying an image of future perfection to us) from the 7 Rays, galaxies, Cosmic Avatars and zodiacal sources. It facilitates contact with the Monadic plane,

8. The Divine aura contains the 1st Cosmic Ether, registering impressions of the vision of Infinity and facilitating contact with the Divine plane, a state of Infinity, selflessness and a fusion with the One Self.

What happens to the substances as a person advances spiritually?

As a person advances spirituality, the substances of their aura are getting more and more refined, subtle and undergoing transformation into higher order qualities. The 4 first lower radiations physically, etherically, emotionally and mentally will be substituted by the 4 higher Cosmic Ethers accordingly.

Meditate on each item of the 7 steps to develop our aura carefully. Take any one or more of the items, and describe in your own words and in detail, why this item will help develop the aura.

There are many ways to develop our aura, the best one is the 7 step-method of becoming our True Self, including: 1. Purification, 2. Striving toward the highest, 3. Living a sacrificial life, 4. Living in beauty, 5 Increasing Joy, 6. Living in freedom, 7. Meditation.

Meditation is a comprehensive way for developing our aura. Because through meditation, we calm down the lower self and raise our consciousness higher and deeper, touching our innermost Self, our Higher Self, our Soul. This contact with our inner divinity acts as a purification process, through synchronizing with the higher and discarding the dense lower substances. The substances of our bodies are replaced with finer Cosmic Ethers, expanding our consciousness, making us becoming more and more sensitive, refined, and noble. Through meditation, we build our higher vehicles for communication with higher planes, thus, expanding our aura.

The description of what is the aura is very good. Remember that it is basically the radiation of our bodies, centers, and chalice to the degree that these are functioning and radiating.

Yes, meditation develops the ability to think in truth and in depth.

103.2 Aura and Colors

 1. How do we build our auras? Describe in detail the bodies that form it.

Aura is a highly sensitive, constantly moving, and pulsating sphere with many layers surrounding our body. It is like an electric shield that reflects the qualities of our bodies from inside out. All our thoughts, emotions, and actions create change in the colors of our aura. Each body emanates its aura, according to its own nature. There are health aura (physical radiation), etheric aura, emotional aura, mental aura and soul radiation.

The expansion of the aura depends on our conscious use of the corresponding body, the virtues nourished in that body, and the service rendered by that body. Our auras can be uplifted when we make a solemn oath and stick to it, when we make a deep contact with a teaching or a teacher and start following that. Our auras can also be affected through our food, drink, during fullmoon time, the sounds and colors around us, the setting of our environment, the partner we are related to… We can make our auras more vibrant through purifying and refining our bodies.

We build our auras through sincere aspiration towards higher values, admiration of great beauty, intense devotion to spiritual principles and dedication to the service of humanity. Specifically,

For health aura and etheric aura: exercises, sleep, meditation, breath work, being in nature, eating proper food, having fun, joy, hard labor, swimming, running. Climbing mountains, drinking lots of fresh water…

For emotional aura: creativity, forgiveness, joy exercises, uplifting music, beauty, colors, decorations, reading…

For mental aura: concentration, meditation, visualization, contemplation and study of the ageless wisdom…

The protective auras are formed by our love, gratitude, solemnity, nobility, honesty, enthusiasm, lofty thought/emotions, and abstinence.

Regarding building our aura: This is a very good and clear description of a healthy aura. Physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual disciplines are important. I am not what you mean by “breath work”; if this means deep breathing, going outdoors in fresh air, that is OK. If it means pranayama, it may cause over stimulation of centers, which happens to many people. Think about what is the best way to manage our breathing and stay balanced.

2. How do we connect music to our health?

Music has a great effect on our health by assisting or retarding the development of the aura. Each color in the aura is a sound. Generally, any loud music, rock-n-roll, acid rock, disco, disturbing music… stimulates the lower chakras below the diaphragm such as solar plexus and sacral centers, causing imbalance in the aura by increasing dramatically certain colors and greatly reducing the colors of higher vehicles (especially the mental aura). On the other hand, beautiful, uplifting and creative music harmonizes, purifies, balances and energizes our aura. Thus, it can produce the healing and transforming effects (especially if it is composed by some spiritually advanced initiates).

Sound and music: yes, very important for a disciple to keep the focus above the diaphragm and be conscious what sounds one is hearing daily. Mechanical sounds, traffic noise, are all toxic.

3. How will color be used in the future?

In the future, the use of color will be an alchemical science. Colors and their frequencies will be calculated for desired effects. Man will be categorized according to his dominant color.

Color will be used in a very advanced and specialized healing arts, to heal on many planes, by expanding consciousness, creating harmonious relationships, attracting special energies from Space.

Color will also be a universal language for communicating with higher planes, with angels and devas. When we emanate beautiful colors through the expression of our virtues, our good thoughts, emotions and actions, we nourish the devas and make them joyful. Thus, in turn, they send us their blessing, healing and protection.

Colors: Yes, this is very useful information. Many people are sensitive to color, design, and keep life beautiful and organized. If we analyze the colors around our house, we will find how they affect us.

4. How do we transfer the energy of the Higher Ethers into our Etheric body?

When the energy from Cosmic Ethers is channeled into our etheric body, it sublimates, purifies, strengthens and electrifies our nature. We can make it happen through contacting with highly charged literature, music or arts created by spiritually advanced beings. This transferring can also be done through our meditation, study of the ageless wisdom, contemplating on noble works, ideas, nourishing virtues and selfless service to humanity.

Higher Ethers: Yes, very nice. Also, consider the pranic triangle and how purifying of body, mind, emotions helps circulate prana into our bodies so that the bodies have a clear place to circulate. And, higher energies need receptive bodies.

103.1 The Chalice and the Etheric Body

The Egoic Lotus - Our Soul Body/ Causal Body
(Source: Theosophy Society)
What is the Chalice? What is recorded in it?

The Chalice is our soul body or causal body. The Chalice is also called the Egoic Lotus, the Inner Temple, The Seat of Grace. It is our treasure, storing all the noble virtues and wisdom we have gained through our incarnations.

As an Egoic Lotus, the Chalice contains 12 petals, organized in 4 layers of 3 petals. From outside in, there are the first layer of knowledge petals of the physical plane; the second layer of love petals of the astral plane; the third layer of will or sacrifice petals of the mental plane; and the innermost layer of synthesis petals, enveloping inside it the Jewel. The Jewel or the Central Fire has healing power. Each layer has 3 petals, and each petal also has the quality of knowledge, love or will/sacrifice, beside the quality of its layer. Therefore, the name of each petal includes the name of its layer and the name of its specific quality.

Meditate on what it means to open each petal of the Chalice?

Opening of the petals in the Chalice

The Knowledge Layer, corresponding to the Law of Service. These knowledge petals are organized, arranged, and energized in the Hall of Ignorance, but remain unopened and only begin to unfold when the second layer is organized. This knowledge ring takes the longest time to unfold (relating to the number 700 in the symbolic number of 777 lifetimes).

1. The Knowledge-knowledge petal or the petal of civilization, opened on the physical level of consciousness, in the Lemuria times, marking the emergence of a materialistic civilization. It unfolded through experience on the physical plane, through suffering by violating the Divine Laws, paying the price of ignorance and thus knowledge is gained.

2. The Knowledge-love petal or the petal of culture, opened in the Atlantean times on the astral plane, starting an emotional, religious culture, and one became creative. It unfolded through relationships on the physical plane and the gradual growth of love—from self-centered affection to love for others.

3. The Knowledge-sacrificial petal or the petal of illumination, opened in the Aryan times on the mental plane, creating a mental illumination (knowledge). It unfolded through compulsion from circumstances, not by free will, through offering oneself on the altar of desire—beginning with lower desires, and eventually transforming into aspiration, though still rooted in desire.

The Love Layer, corresponding to the Law of Magnetic Impulse. These petals are arranged and energized in the Hall of Learning, but are still unopened. The outermost knowledge petals unfold simultaneously until they are fully open, revealing the second layer; the third layer remains closed. This ring relates to the number 70 in the cycle of 777 reincarnations.

4. The Love-knowledge petal or the petal of cooperation, opens on the physical plane and one becomes cooperative. It unfolds through the conscious balancing of opposites and the gradual use of the Law of Attraction and Repulsion.

5. The Love-love petal or the petal of loving understanding, opens on the astral plane and one becomes loving understanding, a great artist. It unfolds through the gradual transformation into love for the Real or the inner Being. The Solar Angel does not actively concern itself with the personality until this 5th petal begins to unfold. This 5th petal is the pivotal petal in the development of the Egoic Lotus as its complete unfolding marks the moment a person undergoes the first Initiation.

6. The Love-sacrificial petal or the petal of group love, opens on the mental plane, and one becomes group-conscious, a great humanitarian who lives and works for humanity. It unfolds through the attitude of the person as he consciously strives to relinquish personal desires for the sake of his group.

The Sacrifice/Will Layer, corresponding to the Law of Sacrifice. These petals are arranged and energized in the Hall of Wisdom. This ring relates to the number 7 in the cycle of 777 lifetimes, marking the stage when one enters the Probationary Path. After the cycle of 777 incarnations, one steps onto the Path of Initiation and sees this third layer of petals unfold. This final unfolding occurs during the phases of the Path of Initiation and is rapidly accelerated by the initiations and the intense efforts of the person, supported by the electrical work of the Initiator, using the Rod of Initiation.

7. The Sacrifice-knowledge petal or the petal of participation opens and one actively participates in the Hierarchical Plan. One consciously applies all that one has acquired or is acquiring under Divine Law for the benefit of humanity.

8. The Sacrifice-love petal or the petal of purpose opens and one becomes united with the will of group disciples and touches the Purpose behind the Plan. It unfolds through the conscious and consistent application of all the soul's powers in service to humanity, with no desire for reward or recognition for the great sacrifice made.

9. The Sacrifice-sacrifice petal or the petal of precipitation, opens and one becomes one with the group of Initiates Who work for the precipitation of the Plan. It unfolds because sacrifice becomes the dominant inclination of the soul, as seen across many lifetimes of the initiate prior to his final liberation.

The Synthesis Layer

10. The Synthesis-Knowledge petal opens when the 3 petals of the Knowledge ring are fully unfolded.

11. The Synthesis-Love petal opens when the 3 petals of the Love ring are fully unfolded.

12. The Synthesis-Sacrifice petal opens when the 3 petals of the Sacrifice ring are fully unfolded.

How does the Solar Angel help build the Chalice?

The Solar Angel, as a Teacher, Guide, a protector of the human soul, gradually prepares the human soul that indwells in the Egoic Lotus. Like a gardener, the Solar Angel strives to make the seed hidden beneath the layers of the physical, emotional, and mental bodies (the human soul) blossom, and to draw forth that beauty into outward expression. The Solar Angel is our source of wisdom, inspiration, and love. The Solar Angel helps build the Chalice by expanding our consciousness, increasing our love, and the strength of our will.

What are the 4 dimensions/extensions of the Etheric body?

The 4 dimensions of the Etheric body are:

The 4th ether: the chemical ether, providing prana and acting as an important gate/barrier between the physical body and the astral body.

The 3rd ether: the life ether, bringing prana and acting as a barrier between the astral body and the subconscious mind.

The 2nd ether: the light ether, containing our heart center, acting as a barrier between the higher mind and the lower mind. It is a shield, a guardian for our heart center, group consciousness and inclusiveness.

The 1st ether: the reflecting ether, containing our head center. It protects the mental body as a whole from premature mixing with the buddhic-intuitional energy (which is all about the Hierarchical Plan and great Purpose).

What is the safe passage through which we contact  Higher Worlds? How is this passage built so that it is safe?

The safe passage through which we contact Higher Worlds is the Antahkarana, which bridges the gap between the lower mind and the higher mind on the 1st phase, and connecting the personality as a whole directly to the Monad on the 2nd phase.

The Antahkarana can be built safely through meditation, through studying the Ageless Wisdom and through service to others.

102.6 Telepathy and the Etheric Body

How is it when a man withdraws from the physical body but is not in the etheric body?

When a man withdraws from the physical body but is not in the etheric body, he can be in the astral or mental body. When we sleep, we leave our physical body and are in our astral body, contacting our brain through dreams. When we meditate or think deeply, we leave our physical body and enter our mental body, contacting our brain through visions. When we enter intuitional level, our brain registers all of our experiences there according to its purity and serenity.

What is the life thread? What is the consciousness thread?

The Antahkarana or the rainbow bridge, connecting the lower mind and the higher mind, is threefold, comprising of the life thread (the sutratma or the silver cord), the consciousness thread (the golden thread), and the creative thread which man has to build through meditation and creative work.

The life thread starts from the Monad and is anchored in the etheric heart, connected to the thymus gland. As long as the life thread is active, the heart beat and the body is alive.

The consciousness thread starts from the Soul and is anchored in the head (the etheric brain), connected to the pineal gland. As long as the consciousness thread is active, the man is conscious.

The life thread remains throughout our lifetime. The consciousness thread is withdrawn every night up to higher planes when we go to sleep. At the end of our lifetime on the physical world, both the life thread and the consciousness thread are withdrawn, we die and leave our physical body.

What are the causes for failure in telepathic work?

Distortion in telepathy can occur if the etheric body, particularly the etheric brain, is not healthy (atrophied, agitated, congested, burnt out, loosened, displaced) or if the physical brain is intoxicated with alcohol, tobacco, drugs, negative emotions or thoughts.

Obstacles for telepathic work are lack of love, lack of sympathy, the presence of doubt and criticism. However, too much emotions, intense feeling and devotion can also interfere the work.

How do concentration and meditation enhance communication?

Concentration is the ability to hold our mind steady on some focus. It is like when we take photo. It is the same as taking photos, for the clear picture, we need focus, thus, for a clear communication, we need concentration.

Meditation is the withdrawal of consciousness from the physical body to the mental body. Therefore, the more we practice meditation, the more we nurture a serene spirit, divine indifference, dispassion, and detachment, which are helpful qualities for successful telepathic works.

What is telepathy?

Telepathy is communication between the Thinker and other intelligent forms of life, through the etheric centers. [The Thinker can be the True Self, the human soul matured. The Thinker can be the Ego, in this case, the Ego is the same as the human soul. The Thinker can be the Soul, meaning the Solar Angel who is trying to awaken us].

There are several kinds of telepathy. Ordinary people can have instinctual telepathic communication, using the solar plexus center and through the lower ethers. Advanced people can have mind-to-mind telepathic communication, using the throat center. Initiates communicate directly from soul-to-soul or even on the intuitional level, through the higher ethers.

Factors involved in telepathic work are the etheric body (the etheric substance in space), the human soul (the Self or the awareness unit), the chakra, the etheric and physical brain, the mental body and the Antahkarana.

For successful telepathic works, the etheric body should be in healthy condition, and the sensitivity to impression should be developed, through purification and meditation. The more we are purified, the more we are sensitive to impressions from higher planes and higher beings, Masters and Hierarchy. And thus, we, as aspirants and disciples can be more helpful in serving the Divine Plan.

Describe the major centers of the etheric body

The major chakra is formed when the nadis cross 21 times. There are 7 major centers of the etheric body,  called 7 major chakras. Among these 7 major chakras, 4 centers are above the diaphragm and 3 centers are below the diaphragm. Anchoring points for the soul are the 3 centers above the diaphragm: the head, the heart and the throat chakras. The lower 3 chakras below the diaphragm - the base, the sacral and the solar plexus centers - are under control of the personality. The Ajna center works as the distributing agent for either the personality or the soul, depending on who is the dominant.

1. The base chakra has 4 orange (red) petals in the shape of a cross. It registers the 1st aspect of divinity and anchors the will to be, supporting all other chakras. The principle of vitality or prana is seated in the base center. Feeding and directing the life principle in matter and form, the base chakra provides motivation, energy and the drive towards physical activity. Relating to the adrenal glands, it governs kidneys, bladder, eliminative organs, spinal column and legs. It is very active in childhood and declining activity in old age.

2. The sacral chakra has 6 orange petals. The sacral chakra registers the 3rd aspect of divinity. It relates to the gonads (reproductive glands) and governs the sex organs. It is a powerful center to build and regenerate, representing the urge to fuse and unite.

3. The solar plexus chakra has 10 green-rosy petals. This chakra registers all emotional reactions and desire impulses and energies. The solar plexus center serves as the clearing house and the place of reorientation of the life force in the personality, synthesizing all the lower energies for integration of the personality life and remitting them to their corresponding higher centers. The energies of the solar plexus center itself have to be directed to the heart, the energies of the sacral center have to be transmitted to the throat and the energies of the base center have to be transferred to the head. It governs digestion, assimilation, and the secretion of insulin (which is important for the control of blood sugar levels).

4. The heart chakra has 12 glowing golden petals. As the agent for soul and hierarchical energy, for Buddhi/Spiritual Love, the heart chakra registers and distributes inclusive energy of Love, fusing soul to souls in ashram and of humanity via love. The heart center is related to the thymus gland and governs the heart, the cardiovascular system,  the immune system, the nervous systems and the vagus nerve.

5. The throat chakra has 16 silvery blue petals. It is the higher correspondence of the sacral center and associated with the concrete lower mind and the 3rd aspect of divine intelligence. This chakra controls adaptability of ideas and thoughts and is responsible for self-awareness. It registers intention of the soul from the Ajna and is one of the chakras where life of the soul is focused. Building of Antahkarana is possible when the sacral energy is transferred to the throat.

6. The ajna chakra has total of 96 petals in 2 wings, each wing has 48 petals. One wing is rose and yellow and the other wing is blue and purple. It is connected to the pituitary body in the physical body. In esoteric healing, healers use the ajna as the directing agent for projecting energy of love and dispelling radiance, which is the magnetic field created when the three centers in the head (the crown, the ajna and the alta major) are linked up. It is the organ of inner vision and expression of the imagination. The ajna center registers the intention to create. It can be the synthesizing, distributing and directing agent for personality forces or Soul energy, depending on point of development. As the organ of synthesis and integration, the ajna coordinates mental, astral and physical energies. It fuses the creative energies of the throat and the sublimated energies of desire or the true love of the heart. [the Ajna Center is active only after the Third Initiation. The spleen center is active until then].

7. The crown chakra has 12 major petals and 960 secondary petals around in the colors of white and gold. It is the organ for the distribution of monadic energy, registering the 1st will aspect of divinity and representing Ray 1 of Will and Power. The crown chakra is active after the 3rd initiation. As the organ of synthesis, after 3rd initiation, it gathers energies of personality, soul and Spiritual Triad and relates Monad to personality. The head chakra contains within itself a replica of each chakra. The head center anchors the consciousness stream from soul level and is the point of contact for the soul to its personality. The crown chakra is connected to the base chakra, and the active interplay between them produces the manifestation of divine will. As one of the centers where the life of the soul is focused, it provides point of entry and exit for the soul.

102.5 Thoughts, Objects and the Etheric Body

Thoughts and the Etheric Body

1. The differences between the mind and the brain are:

  • The mind is composed of the mental substance of the mental plane, while the brain is composed of the physical substance of the physical plane.
  • The mental substance of the mind is much more subtle than the dense physical substance.
  • The mind is part of our inner and subjective world, while the brain is the objective, physical part of our being. Our inner world is the cause, while our outer world is the result of it. The mind has the power of creation as its vision can gradually direct our life.
  • It is the mind that governs our life. The brain, as part of the physical body, is merely the mind’s instrument.
  • The mind impresses the etheric brain with its thoughts, and the etheric brain puts the physical brain into motion. Our thoughts affect our emotions and actions.

2. Meditation enhances our bodies through the alignment and synchronization of vibrations. Meditation calms and purifies the mind and the emotions. Because our thoughts organize our etheric body, meditation with noble and elevated seed thoughts have positive effects on and enhancing the vibrations of our etheric, emotional and mental bodies. Meditation puts the etheric body nearer the inner spiritual world and helps its synchronize itself with the ideal in the higher subtle planes. Meditation also transmits higher cosmic etheric substances into their lower counterparts, thus transforming the lower ethers, and building the chakras with higher etheric substances.

Objects and the Etheric Body

1. The objects that we touch can affect our etheric body, positively or negatively, depending on their owner and handling. Spiritually refined people are more sensitive than ones of average consciousness. Thus, it is better to use their own personal things.

To protect ourself from harmful emanations we can purify objects by sandalwood incense, prayer, the power of the cross, by the holy energy of Christ or a Master (if invoked in a spirit of purity and by an elevated consciousness).

A person with healthy etheric body charged with golden prana can also destroy any negative formation on any object, if one concentrates their psychic energy through prayers and concentrated thought power. But we should be careful as sometimes it is too risky.

2. The emanations of a holy person can have healing effects and charging blessings on others.  The objects, food, water blessed or given by a holy person can be used, touched by a patient or put nearer to them for healing or blessing. Great Teachers used to send their disciples gifts to pass to them electrical charge of blessings.

102.4 The Kundalini Fire

The Kundalini fire

Also called the serpent fire, the kundalini fire is in the etheric body, around the base chakra, providing life for the atoms of the physical body. It has 3 channels that rise up the spine, corresponding to the 3 aspects of divinity, 3 stages on the Path, and responsive to the 3 major chakras.

(1) The Ida channel, related to the Moon, lunar, feminine, Matter or Intelligent aspect, and the Path of Evolution (Hall of Ignorance). Responsive to the solar plexus chakra, the Ida channel provides the impulse of desire and feeds the physical life and creative urge.

(2) The Pingala channel, related to the Sun, solar, masculine, the Soul, Love - Wisdom aspect, and the Path of Discipleship (Hall of Learning). Responsive to the heart chakra, the Pingala channel provides the impulse to love and continuously contact with ever-widening areas of divine expression.

(3) The Sushumna channel, related to the Monad, the Will aspect, and the Path of Initiation (Hall of Wisdom). Responsive to the head chakra, the Sushumna channel provides the dynamic impulse of the will to live.

The protective etheric webs

The chakras have etheric webs between them that are compartmentalized as each one has its own sacred duty for the human evolution. The etheric webs around the head is very thick, permitting only very little energy to flow through the head to all the centres, to protect the head chakras from the astral world. Because if people are spiritually immature, the full impact of the electric fire would burn the unready forces below.

These etheric webs are normally dissipated with the purity of life, the discipline of emotions, and the development of the spiritual will. As increasingly high vibration achieved through purification and discipline, the fire of the soul (the fire of mind), causes the centres also to increase their vibration, and this increased activity interacts with the protective disks of pranic energy found on either side of them.  Thus, through the interplay, the protective etheric webs are gradually worn away, and become perforated.

Three uprisings of the kundalini fire

The 3-fold kundalini fire climbs up the spine safely and naturally through the magnetic power of the dominant soul as it responds to the soul vibration felt in the head - the light in the head. When the soul is enthroned in the head, it attracts upward to itself the force latent at the base of the spine. The soul force in the base chakra, hitherto relatively quiescent, begins to turn upwards to the head via the spinal canal, passing through each chakra, and gathering increasing soul energy at each point. Mounting upward, the kundalini fire burns out all obstructions in the spinal etheric channel and vitalizes or electrifies the chakras. The vital airs within the ventricles of the head are also swept into activity and produce a cleansing, or rather eliminating effect therein.

As the process of transmutation occurs, the higher Cosmic Ethers replace the lower ethers, then the kundalini fire rises up in proper geometrical order.

There are 3 uprisings of the kundalini fire, corresponding to the 3 fusions of fires.

The 1st uprising - Fusion of Kundalini and Pranic Fires - The 1st fusion of fires is the blending of the two fires of matter, which are the 3-fold kundalini fires from the base of spine and the 3-fold pranic fires from the splenic triangle (spleen, center above the diaphragm and center between the shoulder blades). When these fires meet and merge at the center between the shoulder blades, then evolution greatly accelerates.

Kundalini, as it is aroused, steadily increases the vibratory action, not only of the centers, but of every atom of matter in all the bodies—etheric, astral and mental. This quickening of activity has a dual effect of great interest: (i) Causing the elimination of all matter that is coarse and unsuitable, and (ii) Sweeping into its sphere of influence matter that is keyed to its own vibration, and builds it into its vibratory content. Thus,  coarser matter is substituted for finer matter responsive to its own vibration. The person then radiates out healing and vitalizing energy through all one’s contacts.

The 2nd uprising - Fusion of Kundalini and Fires of Mind - When the fires of matter have united and passed still further along the etheric spinal channel, they contact the fire of manas as it radiates from the throat chakra. During this period, one consciously aspires and throws one’s will on the side of evolution, thus making one’s life constructive. The fire of matter is attracted upward, and merges with the fire of mind through a junction effected at the alta major center, located at the base of the skull.

The 3rd uprising - Fusion of Kundalini and Fires of Spirit - Then comes the third and final stage, which occurs beyond the 3rd initiation, where the united fires of matter and Solar fires of mind merge with the electric fire of Spirit, at the point from the top of the head. At this stage, the higher psychic powers manifest, the 3rd eye is activated.

We should not raise the kundalini by any artificial ways, such as through breathing exercises, meditating on the chakras, etc… as this may come with extreme dangers. The consequences of premature kundalini raising can be prematurely burning the etheric webs, destruction of matter, burning of bodily or brain tissues, developing of insanity, and opening the door to currents and forces, undesirable and destructive. In serious case, this may result in a setting back for several lives of one’s progress,  for one will have to spend much time in rebuilding where one destroyed, and with recapitulating on right lines all the work to be done.

The way for the kundalini fires to rise up safely and naturally is only through self-discipline; mind control; purification of physical, emotional, and mental bodies; dedicated, sacrificial service; and joy. That means when one awakens to one’s soul, it is the power of the soul that will attract the fires at the base for rising up. As one makes progress on the Path, one’s connection to one’s Soul increasing, thus, one expressing more and more Soul quality in one’s daily life, which are love, wisdom, joy, and service.

102.3 Coordination of the Centers

Locations of the centers in the etheric, astral, and mental bodies are described in the following chart:

Chakras and the Planes - Photo credit: Nicole Resciniti

The etheric centers

The etheric base, sacral, solar plexus, and splenic centers are located in the 4th subplane of the etheric plane.

The etheric throat center is located in the 3rd subplane of the etheric plane.

The etheric heart center is located in the 2nd subplane of the etheric plane.

The etheric head center is located in the 1st subplane of the etheric plane. The etheric head center is also called the crown chakra and symbolized by the thousand-petaled lotus. This thousand-petaled lotus is the sum total of the petals of all the etheric centers, including the correspondences of all the 7 etheric chakras.

The astral centers

The astral base, sacral, solar plexus, and splenic centers are located in the 4th subplane of the astral plane.

The astral throat center is located in the 3rd subplane of the astral plane.

The astral heart center is located in the 2nd subplane of the astral plane.

The astral head center is located in the 1st subplane of the astral plane.

The mental centers

The mental base, sacral, solar plexus, and splenic centers are located in the 4th subplane of the mental plane.

We can safely and naturally unfold our centers through meditation, study the Ageless Wisdom, practicing virtues and sacrificial services.

When the etheric centers open naturally, we come into closer contact with our organs and with others; our vitality increases, resulting in good health and well-being in general.

When the astral centers open, we become more emotionally sensitive and influential; We are conscious of our own emotions and the emotions of others.

When the mental centers open, we become more mentally sensitive and influential; we are conscious of our own thoughts and the thoughts of others.

Chakras and corresponding Virtues

There are virtues connected to each center. As we develop these virtues, the center related will be naturally unfolded.

The head chakra helps us find direction in life. In its truest sense, that direction is the spiritual Path leading us to our true Self, true Home. The virtues related to the head chakra are will power, courage, daring and striving.

The ajna chakra works as a directing agent of the personality in the early stage and of the soul (together with the 3rd eye) in the later stage. This is also a great healing center, directing the energies of Love, Light and Power. The ajna unfolds when we make efforts in discrimination, for right motive, right judgement, right direction.

The throat chakra is the agent of speech and creativity. Therefore, it can be unfolded when we practice right speech which is correct, clear, harmless; and making efforts to be creative. The throat chakra is also activated during admiration, bliss, ecstasy and the appreciation of beauty and arts. Economizing the sexual energy, even cyclic celibacy can facilitate the unfoldment of this chakra too.

The heart chakra is the most important center that must be developed regarding spiritual evolution as it makes us sensitive to the needs of people and thus becoming more compassionate and inclusive, being able to feel the Oneness in All. The heart center puts us in contact with the heart of the planet, the solar system, and the galaxy… The flow of Life circulates through our hearts and unifies our hearts with the Cosmic Heart. Gratitude is a very important activator of the heart chakra. As we have gratitude in our hearts, the eleven others virtues are also gradually opened to us, which are: group love (group consciousness, cooperation), humility, service, patience, labor, tolerance, spiritual identification, compassion, sympathy, wisdom, sacrifice.

The solar plexus chakra is the gate to the emotional world with the two higher and lower triangles. To unfold the higher counterpart of this chakra, we must develop virtues of devotion, dedication, aspiration and faithfulness.

The sacral chakra is naturally active. In order to sublimate its energy for shifting into its higher counterpart (which is the throat chakra), we should transform the desire for sex into aspiration and creative activity, and exercise virtues such as pure love, balance. Sex should be moderated with the virtues of chastity and purity, periodic celibacy is also helpful.

The base chakra is activated in a balanced and healthy way through practicing perseverance, fearlessness and constancy.

Evolution of the Self

Our Self evolves through seven stages, from the individual Self to the family Self, the national Self, the Self of humanity, the planetary Self, the solar Self, and the galactic Self. The higher one is more inclusive and expansive than the lower one before it. As we advance, our share increases, and both our joy and conscious suffering increase.

However, between these stages, there are barriers that we have to overcome if we want to go higher. The barriers are like the tests as it is difficult to pass through them if we are so much identified with our lower and smaller selves. To enter the higher level, we must leave some no-longer-relevant patterns, and things behind, we must renounce or sacrifice something, and we must also build new patterns to be able to stand under greater pressure and responsibility. And if we successfully pass the test, we become a greater Self, and enter into a greater Life, with more joy, more sensitivity as well as more power to withstand the increased conscious suffering.

Thus, to find our True Self, we must always lose our little, personal self and develop our tolerance capacity to embrace more and more other people until we don’t see others but our Self in a united Oneness. We feel the interconnectedness of every sentient being within the Web of Life.

Coordination of the Centers

Coordination is the harmonization, attunement, cooperation and synchronization of the centers horizontally and vertically. Coordination of the centers brings benefits to the person as increasing their efficiency in the world with all their thoughts, emotions and actions are united and thus more influential and powerful. When a person has their centers coordinated, all their actions, words and thoughts are charged with the vital energy of the etheric centers, the emotions of the astral centers and the fiery thoughts of the mental centers.

Three factors that facilitate the coordinating process are:

(1)  Purification of the chakras by using them purposefully and economically, no wasting energies and avoiding pollutants.

(2)  Expansion of consciousness through study, meditation, thinking in terms of the Whole, becoming more inclusive in our viewpoint, spreading Beauty, Goodness, Righteousness, Wisdom, Joy and Freedom in the world.

(3)  Developing virtues and applying them creatively in a sacrificial life of services to others.

Relations of the Rays, the Centers and the Fields

The 7 Rays go through all the chakras but there will be one chakra that is more resonant to one ray. Each ray of the 7 Rays also characterizes a field of human endeavor.

102.2 - Centers and the Etheric Body

The seven major centers in the Etheric body and their corresponding glands

The 7 chakras in the etheric body have their physical manifestations as glands.

1. The head chakra is related to the pineal gland, which governs intuition, awareness, and clarity of thoughts. Esoterically, the head center is related to the will and higher consciousness. In an advanced man, the head center becomes the point of contact for the spiritual will, Atma.

2. The ajna chakra is related to the pituitary body, which affects growth, reproduction, metabolism, and response to stress… Esoterically, the ajna center is the directing agent of either personality or soul, depending on the person's point of evolution - how soul-infused he/she is. In an advanced man, the ajna center becomes the directing agent or the distributor of the blended energies of the soul. In reality, the ajna center is inactive in ordinary people and only active until the 3rd initiation. Then, it radiates pure, selfless, universal and inclusive thoughtform, which are used for serving hierarchical purposes.

3. The throat chakra is related to the thyroid gland, which also regulates metabolism, heart rate, and body temperature. Esoterically, the throat center is man's higher creative agent.  In an advanced man, the throat center becomes the expression of the universal mind, Manas.

4. The heart chakra is related to the thymus gland, which is responsible for producing immune cells. The life principle is seated in the heart. Esoterically, the heart center is related to unconditional, divine love, universal compassion, and inclusiveness. In an advanced man, the heart center becomes the agent for spiritual love, Buddhi.

5. The solar plexus chakra is related to the pancreas, which produces enzymes for digesting food, particularly protein, and the hormone insulin for controlling blood sugar levels. Esoterically, the solar plexus center is related to emotions and considered the great clearing house. It operates as a storehouse and a processor of all energy located below the diaphragm, emanating from the three major chakras (sacral center, spleen chakra, root chakra, and other minor chakras). All the energy is concentrated in the solar plexus chakra before being transferred to the higher chakras.

6. The sacral chakra is related to the gonads, which affect reproduction and other body functions. It also relates to sex as the urge to blend or the instinct towards unity.

7. The root/base chakra is related to adrenal glands, which regulate several functions such as metabolism, blood pressure, and response to stress. It is responsive only to the will aspect. The will-to-be in incarnation is seated in the base chakra. It is also the resting place of the serpent - Kundalini fire.

The lower chakras below the diaphragm also have their corresponding higher chakras above the diaphragm. When a person progresses on the Path, energy from the lower chakras will be transmuted and transferred into their corresponding higher chakras.

  • The energy of the sacral center will move to the throat chakra. Reproductive energy is transmuted into creative expressive energy through arts, communication, writing, speech…
  • The energy of the base chakra will move to the crown chakra. Personality will is transformed into Divine Will.
  • The energy of the solar plexus chakra will move to the heart chakra. Desire is transmuted into Aspiration.

The relationship of the spleen center and the ajna center

The spleen chakra plays a vital role as an assimilator, absorbing prana into the body. Depending on the health of the spleen and its corresponding chakra, the vital force of prana will be enhanced or reduced. The spleen chakra operates like a switchboard for controlling the flow of prana.

The spleen chakra and the ajna chakra are connected. When we receive the 3rd initiation with total purity, harmlessness, and universal love, then the ajna center takes over the spleen center and starts radiating. That means when we achieve purity of physical body, of emotions, of thoughts through the work of the spleen center, then now we can radiate out in purity.

Five conditions of the centers

1. Closed, still and shut, and yet with signs of life, silent and full of deep inertia. The symbol of this stage is a circle. At this stage, the chakra looks like a disc-shaped valley, radiating a dull, lifeless light. It rotates very slowly, almost with no movement. This stage corresponds to the least evolved period of humans, with the first sub-races of the Third Root Race (Lemurians).

2. Opening, unsealed, and faintly tinged with colour, life pulsates. The symbol of this stage is a circle with a point in the center. The chakra moves faster than before, and in the center of the chakra, a glimmering point of fire emerges. This stage corresponds to the later Lemurian race, when the mind began to develop slightly.

3. Quickened, alive, and alert in two directions; the two small doors are open wide. The symbol of this stage is a split circle. During this stage, the bright spot in the center of the chakra becomes more active. The spinning motion made it shine brighter than before, projecting sparks in two different directions, making the chakra appear to be divided in two. The movement of the chakra was much faster than before, and the fire bisecting the circle moved back and forth, stimulating the light of the center of the chakra to become brighter and brighter. This stage corresponds to the period of the Atlanteans.

4. Radiant and reaching forth with the vibrant note to all related centers. The symbol of this stage is a circle divided into four. The chakra becomes very much active, and the cross inside the chakra rotates with the chakra, creating a brilliant beauty. This stage corresponds to a very high stage of mental development, associating with the 5th Root Race. The cross inside the chakra rotates together. The person is conscious of spiritual value, although he/she is still active in the life of the personality, and he/she is approaching the Probational Path.

5. Blended they are and each with each works rhythmically. The vital force flows through from all the planes. The world stands open wide. The symbol of this stage is the Swastika. At this stage the chakra becomes four-dimensional (4D). The cross within the chakra rotates on its axis, and sends out sparks in all directions. The chakra looks like a ball of fire instead of a wheel of fire. It marks the Path of Discipleship and the Path of Initiation. At the end of this stage, the chakras look like glowing balls of fire, with the spokes of the chakras merging together into a "whole burning fire".

102-1 Fires in the Bodies and Devas

What are the fires of the etheric body and how do they connect with the other fires?

The etheric body is fire in various forms; the simplest form is a wood fire. The human aura, the fire circulated in the etheric body, is the active heat or prana from solar radiation.

The human aura is not the etheric body. The aura is built by the radiation of all the three bodies, all the centers, the presence of the Solar Angel if present, the human soul and the Chalice radiation and the type of energy circulating in and out of the body. It is complex.

The active fire in the etheric body connects with the other fires through 3 stages of fusion: the first fusion between the latent heat of the physical body and the prana of the etheric body; the second fusion between the fires by friction of the physical-etheric body from the first fusion and the solar fire of the mind; and the final fusion between the fire of the mind, the second fusion, and the electric fire of the spirit.

Our well-being and spiritual development are reflections of the merging of these fires. Therefore, to have these fires safely blended, we should purify our physical-etheric bodies and dispel glamours and illusions from our astral and mental bodies.

The etheric-physical radiation of a person relates to his surplus active fire/prana after circulating in the etheric body. This physical magnetism differs from real magnetism, the radiation of a subtler body (usually the astral). This real magnetism relates to the manifestation of the Divine Flame, formed on the 2nd plane (monadic), through the buddic and astral vehicles.

Sitting by the open fire for 30 - 40 minutes can benefit our health and help us overcome fatigue as the fire coordinates our etheric body, the nadis, and the nervous system.

Explain the three-fold Sun and the three kinds of energy.

The three-fold Sun is about the 3 layers of the Sun.

The 1st dimension is the Central Spiritual Sun, emanating the Electric Fire or Monadic Flame Divine. It is a destructive, liberating and synthesizing energy. The energy breaks the limitations and hindrances that imprison the spirit and liberates it, resulting in a new synthesis. It has 3 kinds of motion: rotating, revolving and advancing. It relates to the 1st Ray of Will-Power and operates under the Law of Synthesis. It allows us to bring together different actions into one. It gives us the ability to see physical, emotional, mental and higher levels of truth and understanding. It makes us able to see things from various perspectives. It is unity in diversity. When the electric fire, the law of synthesis, operates, we are giving and taking and expanding our knowledge together. This is not about opinion, it is about listening to each other through that fire of finding the truth, expanding ourselves and getting more points of view. This is the energy of the Path of Initiation, a gradual expansion of our vision, consciousness and creativity. As we evolve and increase our ability, we will live a more sacrificial life for others, and  becoming more harmonious with Life.

The 2nd dimension is the Heart of the Sun, emanating Love energy or Solar Fire or Fire/Spark of the Mind. It is the energy that loves, creates, builds, and unites on all levels according to the Divine Purpose. It has 2 kinds of motion: rotating and revolving. The Solar Fire relates to the 2nd Ray of Love-Wisdom and operates under the Law of Attraction and Repulsion. It is not about attracting money or material success by saying certain mantrams… It is about being able to identify what is inclusive in us and what is exclusive. It is about discernment, the capacity to differentiate and choose what is right and not right for us. But what may be right for us may vary with time and our point of evolution. When we are infused with this solar fire in our hearts, which is the sign of discipleship, we will be able to attract to us what we need and repulse things that are harmful to us. This energy put us in tune with our true-self and with Love.

The 3rd dimension is the Physical Sun, emanating solar prana or Fire by Friction. It is the energy of internal vitalizing fire. Its motion is rotating. It relates to the 3rd Ray of Active Intelligence and operates under the Law of Economy, which is about sharing the right use of resources and caring for Nature and our Earth. We must purify ourselves and our environment, we must have fresh air, fresh water, good food, good relationships, and good thoughts… in order to receive efficiently the prana from the Sun.

Explain the function of the violet-golden devas. How are these devas involved with humanity?

The violet-golden devas work on the 4 etheric levels, and they are present in the pure and dry air. They receive the solar prana and step it down in such a measure that it can be transmitted to men safely. With their help, humanity will have more healthy physical bodies which are more resilient, having great strength and enormous physical magnetism and a delicacy and refinement in appearance as yet unknown.

In the future of decades and centuries, when Christ reappears and brings with Him the legion of the great Angels, they will contact humans and teach us:

  • To see etherically
  • To use the effect of color in healing
  • To learn about superhuman psychics
  • To nourish the body and to take the needed food from the surrounding ethers
  • To expand our consciousness, embracing the superphysical levels.

Concerning the relation of the chakras and the rays in various DK’s books, where are the differences, and why do you suppose there are these differences?

I list the relation of chakras and rays in the following table. We can see in all 3 references that Ray 1, 2, and 6 are always correspondingly associated with the head, the heart, and the solar plexus chakras. The differences were highlighted for the Ajna, throat, sacral, and base chakras.

The reasons for these differences, I guess, are based on the differences in the point of evolution or the level of consciousness. But I still hardly could explain, so I am unsure. So I would love to hear your explanation about this. Thank you very much!

This is a very good assessment. I wondered about that often too, but could not come up with a consistent answer. It could depend on the point of evolution and level of consciousness. Also, what we see operating depends on our level of development. For example, if I am of high mental capacity, I will be able to discern things I could not see before. As I advance, I can see more clearly. Also, what Rays we are, affect what we see. What level of consciousness we are, affects what rays we discern. Additionally, perhaps the rays we have operating through a center is not the main ray, but the sub ray of the ray. Rays 5, 4, 7 can refer to the main Ray or the sub rays of any of the seven rays. An additional qualifier can be the ray of a center of an advanced person may be flexible depending on what they need to do; the rays may shift. There are many factors and for that reason, Torkom never told anyone what rays they are, nor do I and I personally do not advocate typecasting ourselves in any zodiacal or ray configuration.

You did a very good lesson. Thank you for sharing. I send you love and gratitude and wish you and your family a most joyous New Year.

Love
