Oneiric Discipline

Dream Catcher - (Unknown source)

Learning notes from the lecture "Oneiric Discipline" on 11.06.2016 at Sharing Coffee, HCMC.

When we dream, our consciousness go to different dimension. Oneiric discipline allows us to awaken our consciouness during sleep. It leads us to the state of Lucid Dreaming in which we can directly investigate the superior worlds. Dreams are mirror of our astral experiences, of our inner world, of our subconscious. They reflect at night what is going on inside us during the day.

How to remember our dreams

Preparations: before going to sleep

- Have a light dinner (heavy dinner gives us indigestion, affecting our solar plexus).
- It is advisable to take a short walk in fresh air before going to sleep (or meditate, or just simple physical relaxing practice which gives a break to our intellectual mind).
- The bedroom should be clean and orderly. Bedhead should be oriented towards North to respect the magnetic flow of the Earth. Three primary colours can be used to decorate the bed room: Red, Yellow and Blue.
- Avoid noises.
- Mattress should be neither too hard nor too soft.

Yoga of Sleep

* First, check our inner states.
- Activate the superior emotional and intellectual centres (ex. reading philosophical books).
- Go to sleep in a state of profound relaxation. The most elevated from of thinking is non-thinking.
- Listen to Beethoven and Mozart. Beethoven's music is especially suitable for working with the superior emotional centre.

*Lying face-up, with eyes closed and hands on the solar plexus.

* Concentrate on Morpheus. Morpheus is the Greek God of Dreams, representing of one part of our Being that shapes symbolic dreams to instruct us. Morpheus is responsible for activating our consciousness, instructing us into the Mysterius of dreams.
- We can take lion posture (lying on the right side, palm under our cheek) - The Buddha's Paranirvana.

* Write down our dreams: notebook and pen near bed, easy to find. Write down all our dreams every morning, as much as we can remember. (even only small fractions) All details are important. Review our notebooks on a regular basis (monthly), in order to understand the common thread.

* When waking up, try not to move, as the astral body will move also and we lose the memory of the dream. Repeat the mantra to help remembering our dreams: RAOM - GAOM. (RAOM is also a powerful mantra to stimulate our heart chakra). Repeat it mentally, gently again and again, until the images of the dreams appear (stay 5 minutes in bed and repeat the mantra).

* Initiating Element: what appears repeatedly in dream, either a symbol, sound, color, person...On waking (eyes still closed), visualizing the initiating element, we try to fall asleep again. We can ask our Divine Mother for the initiating element for lucid dream.

How to interpret our dreams

1. Law of Affinity. What we dream has a similar meaning.

Ex. We lack balance while biking? --> We may lack balance in our everyday life.
We find ourselves in a labyrinth? --> We may feel lost in the labyrinth of our mindblock.

2. Law of Contradiction. What we dream has an opposite meaning in reality.

Ex. We laughed in dream while we may soon suffer in reality.

3. Law of Numerology and Kabbalah.

- Phonetic Kabbalah
- Symbolic Kabbalah
- Numeric Kabbalah

Ex. An initiate asked how long until he obtains a power. The answer is 8 (days). But in numeric Kabbalah, 8 also means "Patience", among other things.

Ex. We go to Rome. Phonetic Kabbalah: ROMA - AMOR = LOVE --> warning about finding love. Name of some person has meaning.

The 4 Lights of Sleep

1. Light of Revelation. (in the first hours of sleep)
2. Light of Magnification
3. Light of Immediate Realisation (real meaning)
4. Light of Profound unner Enlightenment
