My kids are grade 6 students at the age of 11 and 12 years old. They are from Tran Binh Trong and Truong Hoa secondary schools in Hoa Thanh district, Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. Most of their parents are labourers. I’m teaching 4 classes here. Two of them are my main classes (5 periods per week). For the other two, I teach only 2 elective periods per week.
Where do they stand now?
Most of them are absolute beginners in English with some exceptions of a very few who have learnt English at their primary schools.
Long-term vision - What do I want to be true for my kids in 15 years?
I want my kids to have compassionate hearts and wise minds.
I want them to lead happy, healthy and mindful lives.
I want my kids to see beyond the illusion of this material world and progressing on the path of spiritual development.
Short-term vision - What do I want to be true for my kids in 1 year?
I want my kids to enjoy learning in a joyful and friendly environment. I want them to be calm, strong and compassionate children with a growth mindset. By the end of the school year, I want my kids to be able to communicate in basic English with confidence.
